Project Adventure has partnered with Plymouth State University on a unique Master of Education with and Adventure Education focus. Graduate credit is available for all multi-day open enrollment and custom workshops. Additionally, Plymouth State serves as the accrediting institution for continuing education units (CEUs) for Project Adventure custom workshops. The UNH Department of Outdoor Education is known as the leading research group for evaluation and research on Adventure programs. PA partners with UNH and Professor Michael Gass in designing and implementing research projects for PA programs.
The Cambridge Institute for Brazilian Studies (CIBS) is focused on advancing Brazilian studies in the US, exploring issues where Brazil and the US face similar problems, pursuing collaborative research, and opening dialogue where it may be of mutual benefit. CIBS staff has years of in-country professional experience, as well as relationships and cultural expertise on Brazil along with the skills required to navigate the educational and social/political terrain of the country. They also have extensive experience working with youth education and training. Project Adventure has established a partnership with CIBS in order to disseminate PA programs and methods to Brazilian individuals, schools and universities, social service agencies, non-government organizations and businesses to advance its mission. This will be achieved as CIBS develops its intermediary role with PA and others to do mission-related business in Brazil.
The Independent Schools Experiential Education Network (ISEEN) is an international learning laboratory and networking opportunity through which independent school experiential educators and administrators share their challenges and successes, learn of and from model programs, and explore the developing role of experiential practices within our educational communities. Experiential education encompasses a host of initiatives including outdoor/adventure education, sustainability initiatives, global education/travel, service learning, and leadership development. The main focus of ISEEN is the annual institute at which experiential educators from across North America and beyond gather at a host school to discuss topics relevant to our programs, our schools, and our future. Project Adventure is an active member of ISEEN and assumed an initiating role in its founding with a board position and hosting the first conference in 2006.
